How to mass update contract status from active to close

When tried to update contract status using standard template we are getting an error message.


Background: Last night theSend Contract Expiration Notifications” job ran for the first time and sent email notification to lots of people in the company that are associated with the expired contracts. We realized that these contracts were loaded as active during the conversion for a valid reason.

Need: But due to this notification issue, the goal now is to mass update the status (from active to close) on the header for all these contracts (about 3800) in production by 11PM EST today so to avoid all these notifications going out again to managers/contacts when this job runs again tonight. We are willing to use either standard (which did not work) or classic template as well to fix this. Please let us know if we are doing something wrong as we are getting an error message. See below.
