Enable Email Address Validation for Employee Self-Service entries

Looking for a way to enforce Email Address validation on the seeded email fields when accessing via Self-ServiceContent
Is it possible to enable any kind of Email Address Validation on the seeded Email field found within the Contact Details section of Personal Information?
I have attempted turning on the PER_MANAGE_USERS_EMAIL_VALIDATION however that only seems to affect changes made using Manage User account or via the Security Console.
Keen to hear of a workable solution if one exists or if it should become an idea.
