Summary

We have a requirement where we have a front loaded absence of 21 days at beginning of the year, and this needs to be prorated based on Hiredate

Content

Requirement is

We have front loaded accrual plan with calendar year of 1st January

An employee is given 21 of leave days on the 1st January.  However if a new hire joins after 1st January then the leave days of 21 needs to be prorated.  So 21/365 (or 366 if leap year) * times days remaining in calendar year

So if new hire joins 1st Feb, then the proration needs to be 21/365 (or 366 if leap year) x 335 = 19.27 days

Howdy, Stranger!
