Subinventory or Inventory org that maintains inventory balances only for reporting purpose

Hi All,

The client has a distributor which manages all the stock in their warehouse. This stock will not be in the clients books.

However the requirement is to track ONLY the inventory balances in that warehouse.

What are the options to achieve this. Basically we need either a dummy subinventory or inventory org where we can upload inventory balances but that is not used anywhere as such like costing, available quantity etc

Any suggestions
