Classification Screening of BOMs on Transaction Lines

edited Feb 11, 2021 12:56PM in Global Trade Management 1 comment

Summary

We are wondering if there are any customers using the ITEM_STRUCTURE Compliance Rule to assign BOMs to Transaction Lines, and subsequently performing classification screening on those child lines.

Content

When importing/exporting some types of items (let's call them Kits) that are a combination of items, they sometimes need to be itemized out individually with their respective tariff classifications, COO, and cost on the documentation.  GTM offers this ability by leveraging Trade Item Structures, and assigning it to the Transaction Line using a Compliance Rule.  This effectively creates child transaction lines in GTM for each component of the parent line (the Kit).  Each of these child lines can then be evaluated independently for classification screening, control screening, or any other types of screening.

Howdy, Stranger!
