HDL for a large list of new employees

I will need to load in a large class of new employees through HDL.  What is the best way to load the multiple business objects to generate the complete record (assigment, personal details, salary, ect.).  Is it best to pull it all on one .dat file and run it or best to run multiple .dat files?  Thanks!
