Can't find a transaction with approval that is not handled

Summary

The Edit button for the assignment is grey which indicates that there is a transaction pending. I can't find it in Transaction Console or BPM.

We have approvals on Salary Changes and Transfers. Some of our managers are not very good at handling the approval in time and in this case it has slipped out of our, HR Admin, hands. Since there is a time limit on how old transactions are shown in the Transaction Console and BPM I can't find it now. 

How can I find it and remove the transaction?
