Smart List entry name updates not reflecting in calc manager?

I suppose this is a minor annoyance but does anyone know what triggers smartlist entry name changes to be reflected in the smartlist selector in calc manager?  If I update a name for a specific smartlist entry (not the smartlist name itself, just the name of one of the members) when I attempt to choose it in calc manager it still displays the old name causing it to fail validation.  I've tried refreshing the db and re-deploying rules so I'm out of ideas.
