Does anyone have best practices for embedding video into Web Based Training.

Now that our training is virtual and online our user base expects quality video embedded in courses. Does anyone have best practices and preferred content creation software?

I hope everyone is doing well.
Now classroom training appears to be a thing of the past, our instructors are scrambling to develop online course creation skills. Yesterday's "Let's show this video during orientation" has become how do we include this video in our online employee orientation?

How is everyone doing this, any tips tools, and or best practices?

We have made extensive use of Spring since it is easier to master than Captivate, but have run into issues with video embeds. Embedding large videos in the course can create streaming issues within iLearn while embedding a youtube video within a course has it's own issues like slide timing and the occasional popups if you have music (even licensed music) in your video.
