Is there a simple way to Check if an SDP is empty in order to disable a button

We have an "Export to CSV" on a page with a table that is based on an SDP.  The SDP is automatically refreshing ffter assigning filter criteria.  We would like to know if the SDP comes back empty so we can disable the "Export to CSV" button.  We would rather now switch to an ADP at this point if at all possible.
