Prior Quarter balance % Change

I've created a calculated attribute for Prior Period balance % Change which takes (current period source system balance - prior period source system balance)/ prior period source system  balance. End users can add this attribute as a column in the Profile List view and export to Excel to conduct further analysis as needed. 

Looking to see if there is a standard way to create a calculated attribute for Prior Quarter balance % Change. I'd like the calculation to calculate the quarter change regardless of preparer frequency.
