Sort members on alias in form

Hi all,

Is there an option to sort members alphabetically based on the member alias when a user opens a form?

Situation is that we have some general member names (codes) which regions use for different purposes, we have over 15 alias tables (languages) to display the correct name for the region. 

A workaround would be to create shared hierarchies, with the correct order and let users select a user variable(with the shared hierarchy parent). This user variable will then be configured in the form to show the children of it

All creative ideas are welcome.
