How to validate Prospective modification calculations

We are trying to validate the prospective re-allocations. When we manually calculate, we get small differences for each line which cannot be rounding off differences. Is there any documentation available on how system calculates the Promised detail amount in case of contract modifications (both prospective and retrospective)? Contract revision details section displays the allocated amount but we are not able to validate them.
