How to cost refurbished material from the field ?
We have scenarios where the refurbished equipment and tools are returned from the field to central warehouse. Say if an tool is 1000 USD, depending upon the condition it can be returned back into inventory at 750 or lower cost perhaps after inspection.
Any idea how to handle this in system? Do we need to setup separate cost element like depreciation which can be -ve cost predefined for each return. We do prefer to setup new items to differentiate a new item and refurbished item.
