Why does Dashboards 2.0 not take into the Currency Scale when calculating "Value Scale"?

Dashboards 2.0 can automatically scale numbers to K (thousands) M (millions) or B (billions).

Our input data is entered in thousands (000s) and therefore the Value Scale in Dashboards 2.0 gives the wrong numbers.  Unfortunately when we try and set the scale value in the currency setting this is ignored by Dashboards 2.0.
