We have requirement  for Two Prompts to the Dashboard

Prompt 1: Manager Hierarchy filter: This Prompt should eventually report up to the specified individual in the dashboard (so if a director is selected, the dashboard should return all managers reporting up to the director as well as all associates reporting up to the managers). 

Prompt 2: Direct Reports Only: would be similar insofar as it is based off of reporting structure, however this filter would only return the associates who directly report up to the selected associate (so keeping with the director example, with this filter only the managers reporting to the director would be selected).
