Can Saved Custom Groups be used in Calculations/Formulas?

In OTBI, I've designed an analysis where  I've created custom groups of the Natural Account Segment Code using GL - Transactional Balances Real Time.  The groups align with my company's old P&L layout.  I've saved these custom groups to the shared recommended Subject Area Contents.  Now, I'd like to use each of these groups to do calculations which will basically replicate what our Income Statement and/or Balance Sheet would show. 

When I go to create a new Calculated Item and go to the Catalog and then to the folder where I've saved the custom groups, nothing is showing available to use in my formula.
