Fixed Term Contracts in Cloud for School Based Staff

Within schools we have teaching assistants who temporarily go into a teachers position for a period of time and then back to being an teaching assistant under a fixed term contract, and as a result are on a different payroll, as we pay our officers and teachers on different payrolls with different pay dates.  Often these arrangements are extended for longer than initially thought.


In the past in EBS we had the person on two assignments, but one would have the salary basis changed to hourly so that they did not get paid for this assignment.  However, this gave us issues as when we reported on the establishment the hourly position was not vacant, also from a pension point of view the person would have two jobs rather than one.  Therefore what we had started to do was change the persons position if they were on the same payroll, or if they were on different then we would create a new assignment and then
