Reconcilation Withdraw on Assignment

I have a really odd behaviour in my system. A learner has self registered on a required course and the status was in progress. As we are working with expiry/renewal on this course I created a future dated assignment (Assignment Date: 14/4/2022) with due date of 4 weeks. Expiry after one year, with 30 days before renewal.
Next thing I see, is that the future dated course is as completed in the system???????? And the voluntary course has been withdrawn. The Reason for this is Reconcilation Withdraw. Can someone shed light on this for me, this is very strange.
I have actually tested this future dated assignment in our pre-prod pod to make sure it works and it did. It's as Not Started with the assignment date of 14/4/2022.
