Need a essbase function to get the sum total of the prior month figure

Hi

We have a requirement to get the summation of the total of all the child products in the prior month for the budgetary allowance account. 

we tried using the following formula but we are not getting any result 

"Budgetary Allow" = (@sumrange(@prior("Budgetary Allow",1,@relative("Total Product",0))));

Need help.
