Project Manager Access for Timecard

We have a requirement to provide access for TIme Cards to Project Managers.

Below are the two possibilities which can work, either creating a Line Manager Type As Project Manager or creating a custom security criteria in Person Security Profile (using sql).

With this, we will be able to secure the employees data. But here the issue is, if employee is filling timecard for more than 1 project, the project manager will be able to view entire timecard.

 

Is there a way to restrict the content within the timecard. Lets say, If project Manager 1 views the timecard of the employee, he should only be able to view his Project details within Timecard.
