Conditionally show a message on the web clock if an absence is booked on the same day

Hi

Does anyone know if it is possible to use an EL Expression to conditionally display a warning on the Web Clock if the user has an absence booked on the same day? Also, if it is possible please help with the expression.

I can't find any way to reference data other than what relates directly to the user and time card and instance - but I'm definitely not an EL Expression expert.
