Any news from Payroll Product dev on the upcoming new tax in Washington state for Long-Term Service

Summary

Trying to check for information from Oracle on this new tax starting in 2022 for the Washington state for Long Term Care act.

Content

Effective January 1, 2022, the Long-Term Service and Support Trust Act (LTSS) will require all workers in Washington to begin paying a new tax through payroll deduction. This new payroll tax, which is required by law, will begin the funding of the Washington State Long Term Care (LTC) Trust- a state operated long term care insurance program.

  • The new tax is 100% employee paid.
  • The new tax will be effective on all earned income for all employees without an exemption.  This includes subs, coaches, etc.

Howdy, Stranger!
