Absence tracking using actual work hours in custom/DFF

Hi, We ran into an issue recently during our implementation where it impacts compensation and salary tracking for part time employees and the solution we can think of is turning off actual work hours and FTE calculation in delivered fields by loading standard hours in these fields. But in one market we have absence module to be implemented. Is there a way to calculate entitlements based on custom DFF work hours field on assignment page. Thanks.
