Carrier Commitment Allocation based on Equipment Group
Content
Hi,
Customer has following rules for carrier commitment allocation for a certain lane:
Service Provider |
Shipment Weight |
Equipment Group |
Allocation |
CARRIER_A |
<= 24,000 KG |
TAUTLINER |
50% |
CARRIER_B |
<= 24,000 KG |
TAUTLINER |
50% |
CARRIER_A |
> 24,000 KG |
HEAVY_LOAD |
70% |
CARRIER_C |
> 24,000 KG |
HEAVY_LOAD |
30% |
For normal shipments (<24 ton), Carrier A and B should both get 50% of the shipments. If the shipment weight is over 24 ton, Carrier B doesn't have the necessary equipment, and Carrier C has been contracted for this. Over 24 ton, a different commitment allocation is required for Carrier A (70%) and Carrier C (30%)
For a solution, we checked Allocation Groups, which supports defining different commitment allocations on the same lane. However, Allocation Groups appear to be designed to support multiple allocations based on geographies, as the groups will be assigned using Order Release constraint or Itinerary Leg constraint. In our case, we can't assign a group to the order or leg, because we first have to know what to total shipment weight and related Equipment Group will be, before determining what the commitment allocation rule will be.
