Moving a subsidiary from one parent to another in an alternate hierarchy (shared member)

We have two entity hierarchies:

- GEO hierarchy which is our primary hierarchy (all base members are set up as Never Share) - consolidation in this hierarchy is done except for investment/equity eliminations,

- Legal ownership hierarchy which is our secondary hierarchy (all base members are added as Shared) - we use this structure for consolidated reporting as ivestment/equity is eliminated here

 

We encountered a problem when we needed to move one of the subsidiaries from one parent to another in the legal structure (due to ownership changes). What we did was:

- add the shared member under the new parent in the legal structure but dont remove the old shared member,
