Assets Parts List

This question is more about getting the parts list created in IB Assets page , I can see there is a create button to add the structure components manually. I also understood from other posts that the Parts list functionality helps to find the parts while creating Work definition and work order. But my question is if I ship a Master Item which has couple of components , will that structure populate the Parts list in IB Assets overview page ?
