Restricting Action Date to weekdays and non-holiday

We are looking to limit the dates for transactions to weekdays and non-holidays. I was hoping to pull out the day of the week and use that in the autocomplete rule, but I did not see anything. Has anyone tired this?
I believe the holidays will be a little harder, unless the payroll calendar has a holiday checkbox?
