Show Field With Conddition

Can I add el expression on a specific field to be shown only if the user chose a specific value in another field?

More specific:

in the hire quick action, under the employment details tab, I have one field of department,

I want to set that if the user chose department = x

so other field Y will be shown

if choose another department so the other filed Y will be hidden
