How to Enable 'Case' Pattern Match Options in BPM Worklist

Developing a role-based approval rule using BPM Worklist in Advanced Mode and cannot see any of the 'case' pattern match options in the dropdown menu adjacent to the "Requestor's Role Details" after choosing Surround. What steps need to be taken to enable this?
