Difference between Active and Inactive lot

Summary:

There's the posibility to inactive the lots in Manage Lots task in inventory management, but I didn´t understand the difference between an active and an inactive lot.

Content (required):

Eventhough the lot is inactive , the lot is still included in available-to-transact, available-to-promise, and available-to-reserve calculations.

Additionally, the lot:

  • Is included as on-hand supply when you're performing min-max or reorder point planning calculations.
  • Is included as on-hand inventory in all inquiries and reports, including the inventory valuation report.
  • Can be transacted.
  • Can be reserved.

So what is the difference between this lot and an active one.
