How to locate parent using expression based on source properties and target viewpoint?

The expressions for locating parents are configured at the converter level on a node type, but there is no way to indicate the need for different parents based on viewpoints that share the same node type.

I expect this will need to be submitted as an idea, but I hope to see if anyone has come up with a solution. I have an FCGL application that has multiple hierarchy versions associated to the same node type. The node type indicates each segment of our GL values. I expect that if I add a new node type the target application would see it as a new segment for the FCGL application type. Has anyone found a way to use expressions to assign parents based on the target and source viewpoint in order to satisfy maintenance of alternate
