Is there a way to default Period to the current reconciling period?

Is there a way to default the period in the reconciliations screen to the most current period? Currently, every time I sign in and go to Reconciliations, I am seeing a prior period that is now closed. Rather than changing the period every time I log-in, is there a way to automatically display the current period? Thanks!!
