1099 Questions for 2021

Summary:

  1. Can we generate the output in IRS acceptable format directly. What's the process. Do we upload file to IRS portal. Can this be automated to avoid any changes out of Oracle? It appears currently the only way is to download the output in rtf and convert this to txt format by copy fast option.
  2. Can the output that we get in above option be sent to IRS directly or uploaded in there portal manually? Can this skip the requirement to print the output on 1099 forms via print option?
  3. Can we directly print 1099 from Oracle instead of printing on Preformatted pages? Currently we are printing the 1099 MISC & NEC form A rtf on preformatted pages. Or The 1099s are intended to be printed on preformatted forms provided by the IRS?
