got TNS-12505 while connecting to cloud service from app

Content

Hello.

Created an Oracle Cloud instance and trying to connect from application (that is using instantclient on Linux). For some reason I always get an TNS-12505 error: "listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor"). Don't understand, is it instantclient problem or cloud problem. I could connect by sqlplus from client like this:

sqlplus user/password@12.13.14.15/mysid.a12345.oraclecloud.internal , where 12.13.14.15 is ip address of oracle cloud instance.

and listener log entry looks like this:

30-JAN-2017 08:04:47 * (CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=mysid.a12345.oraclecloud.internal)(CID=(PROGRAM=sqlplus@app02)(HOST=app02)(USER=root

Howdy, Stranger!
