Making previously public assets secure

Hello,

Is it possible to toggle a publishing channel which was previously set as "public", to "secure"?

If not, what is the recommended approach to shifting these assets to a secured model? My assumption is:

• Create a new publishing channel which is secured
• Publish all assets to the new secure channel
• Unpublish all assets from the old public channel
• Delete the old public channel

The existing channel has been referenced extensively in links and custom components so ideally being able to toggle and maintain the channel token would be a best solution if possible.
