BIP Excel output always adds additional comma to end of values when saving as csv

In BI Publisher, I need to export a simple table report to XLS (not csv) to be used as a template. However, once completed and then saved as csv, a trailing comma is added to the end of the last field n each row.

Is there some way round this, as it means the template cannot be uploaded in the target system, which won't accept the extra comma.

If I create the template manually in Excel it doesn't add a comma at the end of the row,
