Learning Records Real Time Report cannot add Hire Date field without rendering an error

Since the Learning Management - Learning Real Time Assignment Subject area has been deprecated, we've been directed to use 'Learning Records Real Time' subject area in order to assign learning instead. Which is fine but for some reason, adding an additional subject area to include the hire date field is rendering no results... have any clients come across this? Seems like there are other related issues on MOS, but not exactly like this..
