Is it possible to model daily production capacity other than Work Definition for Make Items?

Summary:

Is it possible to model daily production capacity other than Work Definition for Make Items?

Content (required):

Business Requirement: We work with a number of contract manufacturers to get our Finished Goods manufactured. At present I am modelling the daily production capacity of these manufacturers via Work Definition (Hourly production Rate). Work definition along with Calendar etc. create the daily production capacity/rate for make items.

My question is there any other way Daily Production capacity for make item can be modelled in Oracle? Can we directly capture the daily production rate somewhere?
