Has anybody implemented Inventory Cloud to work with 3rd party transportation providers for tracking logistics milestones

My customer uses 3PL for Warehousing and freight forwards for logistics distribution services. The customer is interested to find out if logistics milestones from 3rd party Transportation Management system can be updated to Inventory Cloud for Sales Order tracking. For example, when the sales order is ready for picking, the customer sends a shipment request from Inventory Cloud. 3PL once sends a shipment to a customer, they send shipment advice to the customer. Instead of just the shipment advice, is there a way when the freight forwarders do the shipment? FF provides tracking for the sales orders to Inventory Management
