Is there a way to stop autocompletion from changing the completion date in a transcript?

Summary:

As a hospital system, we are required to show accurate completion dates on transcripts. Autocompletion sets us up for violations with our regulatory agencies.

Content (required):

When we make assignments, there are often times when people are duplicated from a prior assignment. This might happen when an employee transfers within the organization. We want the original completion date to STICK since this is the true completion date. Our expectation would be that the second assignment should be rejected since it is already done. The user did NOT complete on the date it was reassigned. This is proving to be a real concern since the accuracy of the learning data comes into question.
