How to obtain Star Item Configuration

I understand currently once you generate a config Item (star Item) from an ATO model. This config\star item does not store the Structure of this item.

Please confirm if the above statement is true.

Can you please share where can i get the config item structure details ? We have a business need to have the structure displayed - I was thinking of using some customization or custom reports or screen to display this structure. Hence in this regards I want to know which table stores the item structure for the config item?
