Is it Possible to Auto Assign item to operation in work defintion based on item structure changes

Is it Possible to Auto Assign item to default operation in work definition based on item structure changes

Content (required):

we are using only one Operation in a work definition, so all item by default are assigned to this operation only. So need to know if a new item is added in item structure, is it possible that that item is by default assigned to this operation.

or if there are multiple operations, then by default assign all newly added item to item structure are assigned to 1st operation in sequence.
