Error: Attribute ManagerType In DirectSupervisorDEO Is Required

Summary:

When trying to change a position from CEO to some other position say Executive Director throws following error

Attribute ManagerType In DirectSupervisorDEO Is Required

We have referred to the Oracle Doc - Error "Attribute ManagerType In DirectSupervisorDEO Is Required." When Change The Position (Doc ID 2539600.1)

I am not clear on the following steps mentioned in the document to resolve this .

1) Remove the same directs from "Add Direct Reports" which are also shown in

"Reassign Line Manager".

OR

Remove the directs from Manage Direct First and then assign position at

assignment level.

Can you please advice how to achieve this to resolve this error.
