Transaction Matching: Supporting old transactions opening historical reconciliation

Summary:

ARC Transaction Matching question,

For profiles where method is "Balance Comparison with Transaction Matching", when user is supporting old unmatched transaction its opening up reconciliation for that specific period and all subsequent period.

Note: this is the first time user is supporting historical unmatched transaction.

Content (required):

Eg. During May'22 user supported old transaction dated Jan'22 after supporting transaction Jan'22, Feb'22, Mar'22 & Apr'22 period reconciliation status changed from "Closed" to "Open".

Is this expected result while supporting historical transactions? Since balance did not change our assumption was supporting historical transaction will not change balance and therefore reconciliation will not open.
