How to read the contents of a DOCX file uploaded to a Commerce File Attachment attribute?

Summary of the question:

If a DOCX file is uploaded to a File Attachment, how can we parse the DOCX file's contents? Using the BML getattachmentdata() function does not work as it's a binary file.
