National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) Outages and Impacts to Awarding/Disbursing Direct Loans

We wanted to make the community aware that on July 25th, the Department of Education updated their National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS). Since their update, NSLDS communications with all Higher Education institutions have suffered widespread outages. As a result, NSLDS data has not been sent to your institution for many of your new and continuing students.

The NSLDS History file is a key data source that SFP leverages to keep Financial Aid determinations compliant with regulations. SFP requires up to date data from NSLDS to accurately award and disburse student payments.
