Caclulate Average Daily Balance Post Consolidaitons

We have a requirement to calculate average daily balances post consolidations. Has anyone come across this requirement before? One option is to use one of the custom dimensions for a day dimension. However, that won't work as the customer will need to use all four dimensions. The other option is to push the data out to a planning cube to perform the ADB calculations. I was hoping to hear about other experiences with this type of requirement.
