How to modify Asset Cost Summary Report

Summary:  I created a copy of the DM (path = /shared/Custom/Financials/Fixed Assets/Asset Balances/Data Model/Cost Summary Data Model. If I save the sql (as-is, no modifications) in Q_MAIN it removes the existing group by in the data set. I believe it's because of the GROUP BY &lp_flex_segments_no_aliases in the sql. Does anyone know how I can modify this report without losing the group by? I still want to run it from scheduled processes and it populates temp tables using a package, so I don't think I can just replace the sql.
