How to integrate Kafka with ODI 12c Market Place and bring data to ADW DB

My 1st question - Can we directly connect to Kafka server using ODI and access the data files in Kafka or do we need to have some staging layer (Spark)  in between which needs to be connected to ODI first and then that layer will be used to connect to Kafka?
